*gen preg question*?

Thank author of this post/commentis it true that stress while you are pregnant will cause "splotches" on the baby's skin? i am 34 wks preg. i had someone at work tell me that. my job is highly stressful and causes me to be angry just about all day. very agitating. i work in cust serv in a call center.. so i have to deal w/ the customers and most of my coworkers are so annoying so i am constantly having to bite my tongue. i get so aggravated i want to cry sometimes. outside of work i am not stressed out at all. can anyone tell me about the "splotches" thing i was told. is that just someone thinking they are a know it all?

Thank author of this post/comment"pregnant agents"

I don't think stress will cause splotches. I have been stressed while pregnant and my baby's skin is ok. I think the effects of stress is genetics, though. I also know a lot of call center agents who got pregnant and faced too much stress at work, but their babies turned out fine. I just think you need to have an effective stress-relieving routine after work. And don't do overtimes. You really need the extra hours to relax.

I don't think so. It is up to the health of a person actually. I know that it is not easy for you to deal with angry customers most especially you are pregnant but I think it would also depend on your personality. There are a lot of pregnant women working in the call center, and yes, they baby were fine. I don't think it is because of stress at all.

I believe that there may have been mothers whose prenatal stress caused splotches on the baby's skin, usually that would be because when stressed, the mother's body does not process the nutrients for the baby as well. However, there are other negative effects of stress on an unborn infant, which can be less visual but just as unwanted. I would recommened de stressing immediately if you care about the mental well being of your child.

Every pregnant woman must always keep in mind that they need to be healthy for their kids. And being healthy means also to be free from stress, of any forms.

And with those splotches, I do not know how stress might contribute to it and how it might be connected to splotches.

But there is nothing to loose once you keep yourself away from so much troubles and stress. Because everything that you feel, your baby will feel as well.
