Questions: I gave harsh feedback regarding tech support was I wrong? - Software and Services
| Questions: I gave harsh feedback regarding tech support was I wrong? I prefer not to mention the company but I had some trouble connecting my netbook to my TV and trying to set a custom resolution, what ticked me off though was that it took 30 minutes to explain the problemn and when I got done I got interrogated as to why I would not buy the $40 optimization software for my notbook, I explained to the guy that I was broke and that I could not afford it untill pay day and to send me a link so that way I could buy it later if I wanted to. When I got to the manager I told them about the experience and I think I may have went overboard when I stated that the customer service was poor and that "I am not a fan of outsourced call centers" when the manager himself was probably worked at the same place. He said that he was "ashamed", and when he said that I thought I may have been a little bit to raw and too blunt and bit his head off in the process and later felt bad for the guy. Was I wrong for being brutally honest and speaking my mind? |
| "Calling for Tech Support"
I think if you call for tech support and the support person tries to sell you something... especially something not related to your problem... but anything at all... then a nuclear war would be an appropriate outcome!Dig out the board of directors and contact each one personally with your opinion of how their company treated you. The best way to to get their home phone and address and call them at dinner hour and send then certified mail at home. |
| As a customer of course you expect to get better services and assistance from the customer service. Dealing with technical issues is quite difficult that's why it is important to really train yourself of the basic troubleshooting process so that it won't be hard for you to deal with the customers complaining about software problems. I was in the same situation and I think as a customer you have the right to speak your mind. |
| Oh well, those tech support guys should know what they are doing and must know everything about customer service. And of course, there is nothing wrong with saying what is on your mind. But be gentle in giving up comments. For you will never know if you are to hurt people's feelings. Not because they are there to provide service means we have the right to say hurtful words about them. |
| It is sometime abusive to people speak bad words on other people. Technology made by companies is intended to help and not to make any fights to people. You should be aware of the tings that you do. You are only given a limited time to do thinks and you should utilized it in the nicest thing as possible, you owe that someone an apology. i Hope people would not tolerate that. |
| I would say that your generalization that "the customer service is poor and that you're not a fan of outsourced call centers" may have been incorrect, as you should not base your opinion of call centers and their whole customer service experience upon one incident with one person. However, it is right to report unkind behavior to those in charge so that others after you will not repeat the experience. |
