| Yahoo! Answers: Why did my Media Center stop working? I bought a new computer in January and its a kick ass top of the line one. My media center stopped working and My TV reception is now scrambled. How can I fix this issue. I called Gateway and they told me its a software problem and my warrantee of 90 days is up and theres nothing they can do unless I pay for services. Help Please! |

| I just saw a local ad promoting a Gateway brand laptop and it is offering discounts or a free voucher. I wonder if Gateway is really a good brand to buy considering what Laure experienced above. It is better to buy a brand that is tried and tested than be sorry later and have a headache for poor product performance. |
| The best computer to buy is a new computer with no software preloaded except an internet browser. That way you can download any software you need and none of the software you don't. Unless you are planning to produce movies or music, there isn't much prelaoded software can do other than be a pain in the butt. Buy a Mac. |

| I'm sorry to hear about your problem with your laptop's Media Center. Maybe you can choose to install a free software that would enable you to view your videos and play your songs if you don't want to have your Media Center repaired for a fee. There's Real Player or Quicktime. Is Gateway a reliable brand? I think there must be something wrong with the way they installed your Media Center because it's not supposed to conk out easily. |
